I began the installation of the lexan skylite. The skylite will fasten to the windshield using a pair of aluminum strips and aluminum machine screws with locknuts. I fabricated the aluminum strips and fitted the windscreen while the plane was still at my home shop.
The remaining work included applying some thin foam tape to the tops of the center section/cabin ribs to cushion the skylite, positioning of the skylite, cleco'ing everything into place, then installing the screws to fasten the windscreen and skylite together sandwiched between the aluminum strips. I got everything into place to the point of having the clecos installed, but needed an assistant to install the aluminum machine screws,
