Brief Description:  Fitting trim, start on skylight install

I did additional work on the left side vertical trim strip, match-drilled it and the windscreen using the Z-strip as a guide, and got everything cleco'd into place. There were a few spots on all the trim strips that needed the edges cleaned up, some general work with the emory cloth and little detail work to prep for painting.

I started the installation of the skylight. I am using the lexan that came as the one-piece windscreen/skylight unit. A number of other builders have sent me photos of how they installed the skylight and fastened it to the acrylic windscreen. Joel Milloway sent photos from several planes, all of which have been trouble-free. I am using two aluminum strips about 25" long and 2" wide to sandwich the edges of the windshield and skylight. Each plastic edge will have a row of machine screws clamping the two aluminum strips into place. Easier to understand in a photo than to try to explain.

Mike assisted in fitting the skylight. I pre-drilled the aluminum strips, then match-drilled the skylight and windscreen, cleco's everything together and checked the fit. Look fine.
