Brief Description: Windscreen fitting, support ribs in center section
I did some more work on installing the windscreen. The RANS supplied trim piece for the lower front and lower sides of the windscreen will not work. It was designed to be used with the thin lexan sheet material windscreen. The acrylic windscreen is much thicker, and the trim pieces come up short.
I made a template for a new trim piece using card-stock. I will need to get some aluminum material to fabricate the trim piece as I do not have anything suitable on hand.
Next I worked on installing the center section support ribs for the lexan skylite. There are three ribs. The skylite lexan will be riveted to the ribs using aluminum trim strips. The ribs had to be re-contoured to match the root-ribs of the wings, the cut to length, match-drilled to the attach points (3 each rib), and have the holes for the lexan-fastening rivets pre-drilled and de-burred.
After preping the ribs as described above, I installed them in the center section.
