I finished the installation of the wing root-rib cover panels, put the wings back into the storage rack, and started on the struts.
The struts are made of extruded aluminum, and are pre-cut at the factory. The ends are still somewhat rough, and need to be cleaned up to help prevent cracking. In the manual they refer to this as "smoothening" the ends of the material.
I used emory cloth and wood blocks to perform this job. All the ends came out nice and "smoothened". I also started gathering the various parts and fitting for the struts.
