Brief Description: Fabricate cables and install battery
Today I fabricated the last two power cables for the battery installation. These cables connect the battery terminals to the ground and to the battery contactor.
I have also elected to install a set of "Battery Tender" leads. If you are not familiar with them, the Battery Tender units are low amperage charging units that were originally made for motorcycles. I use the Battery Tender Pro model, which charges the battery, senses the state of charge, and then shuts down to a trickle/maintenance mode. This unit can be left connected to the battery indefinitely without concern of overcharging or boiling the battery into ruin.
The battery tender cables can be seen in the photo hanging down from the battery terminals. I will extend the cables into the cockpit area which will facilitate charging and battery maintenance without having to directly access the battery, remove the access door etc.
