The glare-shield is a fiber-glass fabrication, very light-weight, but not finished. It looks like it could just be painted, but I wanted a glare-free finish and something that looked a little nicer than just paint. I covered the glare-shield with the same fabric that I used on the cockpit-side of the firewall. The material is a woven synthetic product with a brand-name of "SunBrella". It is intended for use on RV awnings, and is supposed to be U/V resistant, a good choice for the "dashboard" area of the plane. I used 3M high-strength spray adhesive to attach the fabric to the fiberglass.
