I've reached the point where I need to finalize my design for the instrument panel. As I mentioned earlier, I am using the Joel MIlloway glare-shield modification that moves the panel to a vertical position instead of the angled-back stock configuration. I am designing my own panel layout, and would really like to sit in the pilot's seat with a panel mock-up in place to ensure that my layout makes sense, has all the appropriate controls in easily accesible locations, and provides a good sight-patern/locations for the primary flight instruments. With this in mind I have decided to assemble and install the seats, then re-install the boot cowl and glare-shield/instrument panel.
Today we started the assembly of the seats. Pulling the large stainless-steel Cherry-Max rivets has convinced me that I should have purchased a pneumatic rivet puller.
