Brief Description: Page 6 Get the wings off the floor
July 4 2012
Its the 4th of July 2012 and I don't think I'll get any Plumbing work so I unpacked some boxes and took a look at the parts. But the fact that the wings were on the floor made me nervous so I tried to figure what to do about it. I got an old 12 volt winch down from the attic and took it apart to see if I could use it to run the hoist, but it was not to be. Then I remembered the hoist did lift one wing. I repaired the hoist and put the chain back on and ran it to see it work, and then had to wait for Bill Starkey to stop buy to load more of his stuff to take to the EAA Hanger. While waiting, I put together the tail wheel. When Bill showed up, we put one wing on the hoist and it ran up to the ceiling. I put the center stap on which is a safety strap and connected to the ceiling and not the hoist. He lowered the hoist which left the wing balancing on the strap and we put the other wing on the othe side and lifted that one. I strapped that one up and unpluged the motor so it would not get a chance to come back down. Woo Hoo it worked. Now I can get to work building my Searey. TAB Aircraft Services is now open for business.
