Visit to the Paint Shop 7
Went to the Paint Shop on Friday, Saw that they painted the Left Wing and did the stripe. No batch of bubbles on this one but the tape job did not mirror the other wing, and the color looks a little darker. What a cluster fuck this is turning into and I have to pay for it too. They are painting the Hull today, I hope it looks perfect to take some of the sting out of writing the check.
Went to PA to see the other wing that the painter said did the same thing, but all I saw was a bubble or two. I couldn't even get it to show in the camera.
I talked with Jim Ratte, The Owner of Recreational Mobility, the SeaRey Dealer that built my Wings and has assisted in 34 Searey completions to date, and Painted over 17 Seareys http://seareyspecialist.com/gallery.php?osCsid=9dfe01131702a8561c38d2f240964c23 I told him what I witnessed each time I visited the paint shop and he said they should have not painted the White paint the same day they painted the Silver UV coat. The Reducer used for the UV coat probably was not done gassing out when they painted the White over it. He waits 2 days before he paints over it. This shop has one SeaRey waiting as they paint the other, and is doing things to quick and it showed up on mine. I have to suffer for their success. And pay them too.
