Electric Landing Gear Assembly Continued
NOTE: I had to stop the build because I had installed the Tail Wheel Extension Cable backwards. At the time of this build, the Assembly Manual did not mention that one side of the cable had a loop size for a AN3 Bolt and the other had a loop size for a AN4 Bolt. Needless to say I had a 50% chance to get it right. At this point of the build, you can't rearrange the cables because they go through the transom under the Boom Tube which is now permanently mounted. I had visions of cutting the cable and re-splicing it back together. I had to go to Progressive to get some Plastic Spacers that I was short on so I went to tell Kerry Richter what I had done so the Manual could be updated and ask what could be done and he gave me a simple answer. "Drill out the loop washer to 1/4"." I did not think of that. I would have made a lot of extra work for me if I had not asked. I am glad I am so close to the Factory.
I assembled the Pilot Side Gear Assembly and connected the Tail Wheel Extension Cable after drilling the washer loop to 1/4" and ran the motor to check that it all worked Ok Manual Ref: S8- 8.1 to 9.2
Secured the Rubber Seal to the Main Gear Legs Manual Ref: S8- 13.1
