Reinforcing the Hull Step
Another Mod I saw on the Searey Tech site was a Hull Reinforcement. At least 2 Seareys has had Hull failures and one sank that I know of. One of the posts on the Tech site had the part numbers from Aircraft Spruce for the Foam and the Fiberglass, so I ordered it. The Foam was $55.00 plus shipping. I thought that foam is light so how much could shipping cost, $10.00? Well the foam was 8 feet long and the shipping was over $100.00. OH SH#T. You would think that the guy who posted the mod would have mentioned that. I made a template and cut the foam and checked the fit.
