Brief Description:  Page 24 Beefing Up the Rear Actuator Plate

MODIFICATION NUMBER 3

Replacing 2 Gear Actuator Plates with a1 Piece

On the Searey Tech Site, it was brought up that the rear Gear Actuator Plates should be one piece for strength and Russ Garner posted a mod that looked like I should do it now before the Airframe is installed into the Hull.
I ordered the Aluminum from Aircraft Spruce with the part number I got from the Tech Site post. When it came, I cut out a 10-1/2" x 6" piece and placed the original Rear Gear Plate on left side and used it as a template and drilled the holes. I then mounted it on the left side of the Bulkhead. I then drilled the right side holes using the Bulkhead holes to line up the right side.
