Brief Description:  Page 15 Fuel Tank Cleaning July 12 2012

July 12 2012

I did not see it till I put the Aluminum tank next to the plastic tank, that the Aluminum tank was smaller than the plastic. I looked at the paper work and found that the Aussie Long Range Tank is 88 liters and I looked that up and found that to be 23.25 US gals. That's 3 gals. less than the 26 gal. Plastic Tank. I was a little upset. I heard the Aussie tank was the best available but not that it was smaller.
PA is now offering a 26 gal. Aluminum Tank that I was going to get if I bought a Searey Kit from PA. and was happy that this kit had the Aussie Aluminum Tank. which saved me more money.

After deciding to use the Aussie Tank anyway, I had to clean it out according to the instructions. I had to pour half gal. of gas in the tank and slosh it around and pour it in a white bucket 30 times. Every time I did, I saw trash in the bucket. I poured the gas back into the tank through a paper towel to help filter the gas but most of the trash stayed in the bucket and then I wiped it out and did it again, and again, and again, and again.
