Brief Description:  The Build Begins Page 16

After a slow start, Bill started with the bulkhead and then the forward fuselage. He said finding the parts among all the boxes takes alot of the time of the build. What is seen here represents 18 hours of looking for parts and assembly.
The boxes are packed and labled with the parts for each section to be built. Small boxes with nuts and bolts and other hardware are marked "Small Fuselage Hardware". Large boxes with tubing and other long parts were marked "Long Fuselage No Root Tube". Inside the boxes are bags with bolts, nuts, washers and other parts that are labled with part numbers and a discription. Searching through the boxes and bags to find the right part takes a good part of the time.
The way the factory packs and lables every thing is good, but it should be packaged with all the parts for each section packed together in Section Boxes, such as all the tubeing, angles and the exact number of each size nut, bolt, washer and rivit packed in a box marked "Bulkhead" and "Forward Cockpit" etc. That would cut the time down alot.
But that would add a lot of extra labor for the factory and add to the price of the kit. oh well.
