Brief Description: Landing light installation right wing
Using a fiberglass strapping tape make a handle for the lens. Slide lens into the hole on the skin and pull the lens out into the hole with the tape handle so it is centered and snug against the skin. Drill bottom center hole and cleco then drill the other two holes and cleco. Did the same on the top side of the wing skin . Removed clecos cleaned the holes and reinstalled lens. Enlaged all 6 holes to #30. Removed lens from wing. Drilled out screw holes in the plexi lens to 5/32nd. Countersunk screw holes in plexi lens and dimpled screw holes around lens opening. Countersunk rivet holes on retaining strip and enlaged screw holes to 5/32nd. Rivet 6-32 nutplates to strips. Attached strips to inside of the lens using 2-sided tape. Install the small adhesive backed foam tape on the lens as a moisture barrier.
