Brief Description: Drill hole for compass 12V line
Drill a hole for passing the cable for the 12V power supply. I tried my entire drilling tool inventory, but not one of them fit between the glare shield and the wind screen without the danger of scratching the plastic wind screen. So I decided to use my step drill and manually enlarge the pilot hole to 3/8" size I drilled earlier (9-9-20140). This was a very tedious and slow process. I also had to make sure the aluminum shavings do not fall into instruments below. For this I found a perfectly fitting paper box under the hole. I had to use a glove not to cut my hand. After I finished the hole I fitted a plastic insert into the hole. Test fitted the compass; all is well.
