This has been a couple of days of frustrating work on the aileron stops. I just couldn't get the maximum down travel down to 17 degrees on both ailerons. Finally I decided to try, at least on an experimental basis, nylon washers on the screw that connects the small aileron pushrod on each aileron. After experimenting with the OD of the washers I found that 1 1/8" outside diameter gives me the desired 17 degrees on both ailerons. I will replace the washers with stops made from delrin rods of the same OD. I put down 3 hours for time spent on this project, but I am sure I spent more time if the study time is included. This is a lot simpler solution than VANS stops and easier changed. I ordered the delrin rod from ACS.
