Brief Description:  Remove Nose Gear Leg

Drove to Bob Eggelston's hangar with my truck to pickup his engine hoist. Used the engine hoist to lift the nose gear leg by about 12 inches using the engine hook. The gear leg came off very easily. We removed the nut before lifing the gear leg. The difficulty was to decide how to support the engine fuselage combo after the gear leg was removed. After much trial and error attempts we lowered the engine on a Harbor Freight stand as shown in the picture. The engine hoist arm could not support the weight of the engine for an extended time. It will take approximately 10 days to two weeks to get the gear leg back from Langair. They will cut and re-thread the gear leg for the new nose fork.
