Brief Description:  Rivet heater

After talking to Dan, I proceeded to rivet the heater structure. The plans call for 5/32 " rivets and I had a call into GBA because I did not have that size. Dan sent 3/8" and I drilled them to fit.

The drawings for the heater were difficult to understand. Instead of showing the structure from the left side where it is riveted, it shows it thru the right side where you a looking through the keel to the mounting locations. Based on that, I need to reverse a 'L" bracket temporary installed by Justin. We had looked at the plans together before, but now I understand.

Riveting from the inside out, was difficult due to interference. On the part that holds the end of the heater core, I moved the holes to get the rivet squeezer access.

Then I used RTV to coast the inside to 'rubberize' the metal to metal contact. I will hang it on the frame once I get the cabin installed.
