Fabricated the rubber shock bushing for the instrument panel. I drew the outside dimension using a washer. I used a brass air hose quick-connect and created a punch I could use in the drill press to stamp out the 3/8" center hole.
I use the bandsaw to cut out the outside dimension, then sandwiched the donut between two 1.25” washers and sanded the rubber to final size on the belt sander.
The plans call for ¼”x26x2” bolts to fasten the pod to the mount but that seems to be too long. 1.75” seems to be a better size. Once mounted, it seems the compass will interfere with the windshield and that is after already moving the pod frame toward the pilot and lowering it. I will investigate that issue later.
