I mounted the Nav/Pos Light lights. I choose to tap 8x32 thread into base plate and substitute bolts instead of wood screws to mount it.
I choose a location just forward of the gas tank and down the side of the fuselage to minimize glare to the pilot at night. The cabin is slightly curved so I coated the base plate with silicon calking to fill the gap. However, the bolts pulled the fixture tight enought to make the cabin conform to the cabin nicely.
