I consided several options to mount my AV8VOR GPS. Since my control stick already has a brake lever on it that controls the prerotator, I created a mount using a piece of 2" square aluminum. I cut it into a wedge and tapped a bolt hold into a small piece of steel and riveted into position. I will rivet the wedge to the side of the instrument pod with a thin sheet of aluminum on the inside.
I painted it flat black to blend with the GPS black plastic.
