Attended Chapter 302 breakfast and meeting this morning. After the meeting there was a sale of some old aircraft parts and tools. There was a Marvel Schebler MA-4SPA and Harrison oil cooler on one table. I knew I needed a Marvel Schebler carb for the Corvair but at that moment I wasn't sure which model so I went ahead and purchased the -4, radiator and a few tools for a very reasonable price. Turns out the MA-3SPA is the model required so will investigate swapping the -4 for a -3. The cooler is a model AP09AU06-02 which is specified for Piper Cheroke 235's so I'm sure it has adequate cooling capacity for the Corvair.
Also had an opportunity to inspect a couple of Zenith 601XL's based there at KCXO that were built by chapter members Don and Chet. Don's has a Jabiru 3300 and is approaching completion while Chet's has the O-200 and has been flying for a couple of years. These guys and these airplanes should prove to be valuable resources for consultation during my build.
