Brief Description:  Ribs

After viewing some photos of the elevators on other 601's and 650's I decided I did not like the appearance of the two holes in each of my end ribs. Used the original blank forms to trace out new blanks then formed new ribs by manually locating the bend lines over the form blocks. Fit new parts in elevator and match drilled to existing skin holes. One of those details that probably wouldn't be noticed by non-builders but something I consider well worth the extra hour of time.

Decided to trial fit the FTTs to the stabilizer/end ribs. Discovered the as-molded part were too wide open to conform to both the stabilizer and rib contours. Use a hair drier to heat each FTT while carefully working them to a profile that netted out. During the process I noted that the ribs formed months ago were about 2mm too narrow at the stabilizer end to create a snug, smooth transition of the FTT's from the aft end of the stab so I cut out a new form block and quickly made two new ribs that fit much better.
