The top flange of the rear spar measured in a range from 19.5 to 21mm. To ensure a proper fit to the elevator hinge on a line parallel to the spar web I marked a line at 19mm and trimmed to the outside of the line with snips. Flattened and smoothed with a file.
Cleaned all parts with acetone to remove all ink and most oil.
Bent two new Standard "L"s using the "two score, one break, two bend, one break" method. Used the 36mm developed length specifed on the drawing and a sight line of 18.5mm yielding sides that are prettly close to 19mm down the full length of each part.
