Brief Description:  Formed 3 Rudder Ribs

Formed three rudder ribs: 6T4-8 (Rear #3), 6T4-9 (rear #4) and a much-improved 65T4-1 nose rib. Rear ribs were formed like rear ribs #1 and #2 by simply laying out with Sharpie then bending on brake. The new tools and hard-wood form blocks made a big difference on the nose rib.

4/22/11 Update: The drawings do not specify a dimension for the Rib #3 end flange that attaches to the vertical spar however it is drawn slightly longer than the side flanges. Upon assembly to the spar it becomes more obvious that this flange needs to be at least 2 mm longer than the sides to ensure that the Rib 3 and Nose Rib rivet lines can be co-linear while ensuring there is sufficient edge spacing to the four spar-attach rivets in Rib 3. Since the drawings and assembly guides seem to be primarily directed at kit builders we must do a little reading between the lines with respect to the way all the parts come together. It pays to be planning ahead to determine the "whys" behind every dimension and instruction.
