Brief Description: Calibrating Bends, Making Parts
Used ZAC calculator along with Larry Winger's spreadsheet to test a bend with sides of 50mm each. Developed length = 97.8 and bend line was 48.4 from outside edge. Each side fell within 0.5mm of desired length - very nice.
With metal on the bench and tuned bend lengths I was anxious to start on some parts. The rudder drawings were accidentally left at work so I went to the next sections in search of parts made from bending 0.025" material. In addition to the standard "L" channel made earlier I was able to complete 6T3-2 and 6T3-7 with excellent results. My daughter Alexis helped me cut the blank for 6T6-3 which we will bend tomorrow.
