Brief Description: Stifners And Trailing Edge RH Elevator
|
|
Today I back riveted the stiffners to the right elevator, plans call for doing the left elevator at the same time. I have opted to concentrate on the right elevator only, that way there is little or no confusion.Closing the trailing edge, went to plan.as pictured there is a 1/8" bend radius on the trailing edge.On completion, I noticed a slight bend in the trailing edge, from what I have researched, I'm not alone with this. But not letting this beat me, I closed up shop for the evening so as I could think of a fix. Next day, I had a crack at resolving this problem, by placing the inboard trailing edge under my arm, and holding the outboard end with my free hand, I was able to push a little at a time with my other hand at the curve point, the end result was perfect, a straight trailing edge. Other builders have tried to remove this curve with hand seamers , I just imagined if I had done it this way the edge would have dents, along it.
