I leveled the fuselage by crawling under and inside the fuselage and leveling the floor per plans. After it was level, I found an outside reference point that I could use without crawling inside. I studied the plans, drawings and builders web sites for any info I could get on installing the landing gear. I bolted the left gear in position through the U-804 inboard attach bracket. I couldn’t get the U-803, outboard attach bracket into position, so studied some more. I used the right side to learn what to file away from the F-850PP skin to clear the corners on the U-803. Then I filed out a little bit of the left side lower skin and re-installed the left gear without the nuts this time. I clamped some aluminum angle to the gear for future measurements.
