Brief Description:  Pin Block and Gas Strut Install

With door loks installed, it was time to get pin blocks installed. I used aftermarket metal blocks instead of the plastic ones from the kit. Took a while to get all four drilled and bolted in place so that the door lock rods closed completely. They are still stiff but I'll work on that later.

Then went on to the door struts. Since I installed the Planearound strut attachment, a different installation was required. I didn't use the template, instead I used the actual struts. Made bushings for both ends of each gas strut out of 5/16" metal tubing. Bolted struts in place to cabin. then made bushings for the door ends. Installed the correct amount of -516 washers over the bushings and bolted the attach brackets in place. My garage isn't tall enough to fully open doors, so it was rolled outside. With my son's help, the strut brackets where drilled and cleoed in place for both left and right doors.

Did some rough sanding on the cabin filler from yesterday, still more to go.
