I decided to add an Alt Flap Up power system to the Aircraft Extras flap controller- Per the manufacturers recommendation.
Determined which wire was the UP side and cut out butt splice. Drilled and mounted 24v relay. Wired relay per instructions from Aicraft Extras. Routed relay coil ground to stick grip block and routed power wire to ESS Bus power block.
Tested system. Flaps up via box and Alt switch worked, however, I couldn't lower the flaps.
After searching for cause, I pulled the left wing root fairing and found that when I disconneted flap actuator to access the relay better, I pulled the flap position sensor completely apart--DOH!
Replaced RAC Pos-12 sensor in wing root and reconnected.
