Brief Description:  Even more tank prep

Just a little more prep work on the tank for New Year's Eve. First, in preparation for the noxious fumes in the basement, I rigged a furnace/AC fan which I had left over from a former house when the furnace was overhauled. I hooked up the power lines to an old extension cord, plugged it in and held my breath. Thankfully, it worked and did not blow up. I function on the smoke theory of electricity. As long as you keep all of the smoke in, it should operate. If you let the smoke out, it will undoubtedly malfunction.Next, I sloshed the rivets in a jar (old pickle jar) with MEK. That is supposed to be the nasty stuff, so I cranked up the fan, opened the basement door and donned a respirator mask. Worked like a charm.Last, I placed all of the rivets for the tank stiffeners and the fuel cap flange so that I can back rivet them later.Happy New Year!I have now been working on Miss Vick for almost 7 months. I am happy with my progress, so far. I feel like I am probably over half way through with the wings and I should be right on schedule for starting the fueslage in June.
