Brief Description:  Back from Oshkosh -Debur right aileron

Last Sunday I got back from a week at Airventure, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. I had a wonderful time. I first went to Oshkosh in 1981 and have missed only two years since then. I rented a home literally across the street from the airshow and stayed there with friends/clients. I had the chance to meet a surviving Flying Tiger (Tex Hill), an astronaut (Mike Mulane, author of Riding Rockets, a fantastic book), an Indy Car driver (Dario Franchiti), automotive legends Carol Shelby and Jack Roush, and someone who has circled the globe in his RV three times (Jon Johanssen). Needless to say, it was a wonderful experience. While at the show, I purchased the aileron servo for a Trio autopilot so that I can install the bracket for it before closing out the wings. I also purchased a four tank fuel selector valve so that I can later plumb in the two auxiliary tanks necessary for my future travels. I spent several days patrolling the RV area of the airshow. There were reportedly over 550 RVs at the show. I took lots of photos, looking for the perfect paint scheme. Vicki seems to like the straight line schemes with the lighter color on the top. Tonight, I finally got back to work on finishing the wings. I worked all night on the right aileron, deburring all of the holes, burnishing the edges, scuffing the surfaces for primer, dimpling the skins and ribs and then finally priming all of the parts. It was great to get back into the shop.
