I've had a lot of angst about these windshield fairings.
I have been a little remiss in log entries. The 10 hours reflects my time over the weekend..
Over the weekend, I faired everything out. I reshimmed the windscreen and used some 3M 5200 sealant to serve as a flexible bridge between the shims. Everything flushed out really well. I have a lot of good experience with the 5200 on boats. The stuff is indestructible. However - it sticks to everything and is very difficult to clean off, once it sets.
I am kind of a messy guy. I have been dreading the handling of the fiberglass. However tonight, I got one lamination on, and it went really, really well. I wore nitrile gloves, and had no problem keeping them and me clean. Precutting the cloth tape to 12" lengths in advance was the trick.
Originally, I was going to round off the inside corners of the canopy, but I decided to do a 45 instead.
