Brief Description:  Left aileron build

Began left aileron build. In the beginning built the ribs for both left and right per plans. Farther in to the build when the skins came into play I just built the left. Ribs made up for right at same time.

22-02. Fabd the hinge brackets. Fluted all the nose ribs. Per step 5 match drilled and countersunk the outboard brackets on the ribs. Riveted them together per plans in step 6 and 7.

22-03 made all the main ribs for both ailerons. Dimpled as required. countersunk and riveted the hinge brackets onto the ribs as called out in steps 3-8

22-04. Clecod the nose ribs to the spar and counterweight as well. Match drilled as reqd in step 3.
22-05. Match drilled the nose ribs to the counter balance and assembled witht he hardware called out and torqued. Applied locktite just in case to threads to keep from backing off.

Step 6. Fabd all the stiffeners for both ailerons and deburred. Primed all with Sem primer. Riveted the stiffeners to the top skin as called out.

22-06. Had a lot of twisting happening while assembling the top skin to the spar. The leading edge skin induced a lot of twist and torque to the spar causeing the skin to buckle. Once it got all clecod it seemed to go away.

22-07 to 08 Layed the assy on the countertop which was flat and true. Riveted the top skin to the spar as called out.

There was no doubler placed on the inboard hinge area so placed some .032 doubler at in board ri inside of spar.. That area seemed very weak and susceptable to damage when bucking the #4 rivets. Looks good when completed.
