Brief Description: Rudder Spar, Bottom Rib and Rudder Horn Assembly
Today I riveted the three reinforcement plates, platenuts, bottom rib, and rudder horn assembly to the rudder spar. All work was done with the pnuematic squeezer and 1/8" cupped squeezer set using the recommended rivets in the Van's plans. I did not rivet the rudder horn brace but left it clecoed in place until I am able to replace it.
I then installed all three rod end bearing bolts and nuts into the reinforcement plate platenuts and tightened accordingly.
