Brief Description: Riveted Left Horizontal Stab Skin to Ribs and Spar
Today Eileen and I riveted the left horizonal stabilizer skin to the main ribs and rear spar, using the flush rivets recommended by Van's. We started by using the pnuematic rivet squeezer and flush riveting the skin to the inboard rib, leaving the fairing attach holes open. Then using the rivet gun and bucking bar we flush riveted the skin to main ribs moving from the front spar to the rear spar, and from the most inboard rib to the most outboard rib. On the most outboard rib and the rear spar we used the pnuematic rivet squeezer. We then bolted the inboard hinge bracket and hinge bearing assembly to the rear spar. Horizontal stabilizer complete.
All rivets used are those recommended in the plans published by Van's.
