Brief Description:  Dimpled Left Elevator Skin, Built Skeleton

I used the C-Frame Dimpler to dimple both sides of the left elevator skin on all stiffener to skin holes.

All of the upper skin holes were drilled and dimpled to #40. The bottom skin to spar holes were drilled and dimpled to #40 wherever the squeezer could reach. The rest were drilled and dimpled to #30 for blind rivets. All #30 dimples were formed with the pop-rivet dimple die.

Following the Van's plans and using the recommended rivets I riveted the left elevator spar, root rib and elevator horn togethter. The root rib to spar connection was made by dimpling and using flush rivets where the elevator horn would go over.

I riveted the two reinforcement plates and platenuts to the spar and installed the two rod end bearings and jamnuts.

I strip primed the inside right elevator skin where contact would be made with ribs, spars and stiffeners. After drying, I back-riveted stiffeners to the inside of the upper, left elevator skin.
