Brief Description:  2" Flanged Duct-Rear Air Vent

While waiting on a comm. antenna (2)—I found a quick project to work on. The fresh air for the GIB (girl in back) comes thru the NACA vent under the right wing, thru SCAT ducting, thru the side of the fuse to the eyeball outlet near the rear stick. The opening in the side of the fuse is approximately 2 ¾”, while the SCAT ducting is 2”. This would leave a bit of excess hole—fine for summer, not good for cold weather flying. Van’s has a 2” flange duct that works well to connect ducting from the wing to the fuse. I laid out holes in the flange, then match drilled to the fuse. Cleaned up, deburred and primered. Sealed area with some RTV and used MSP-42 pop rivets to attach.
