Started on the deck to 807 bulkhead tonight—for some reason this bulkhead did not seem to go as smoothly as the other three. We set about 12 rivets, then the next two clubbed over. Drilled them out and tried again—this time successfully. The very last rivet on the bottom hole just above the longeron turned out to be a bear. One side was set without too much issue, but other side clubbed over. Drilled it out and tried again—same issue. Part of the problem is the F869 bulkhead gusset makes it difficult to get a bar square on the rivet. After the second attempt, the hole was getting a bit stretched and the 3rd rivet seemed too loose in the hole. Dirlled it up to 1/8”, then reamed to #30. Considered an opps rivet, but settled on a Cherrymax. Next up are the rivets to secure the shoulder harness anchor brackets.
Settled for a Cherrymax for this hole
Rear deck done except for shoulder harness attachments
