Right elevator-riveted reinforcement plates and nutplates to spar. I cut down the rivets called out on the drawings—they were just a tad long. I have had issues with rivets clenching when they were too long. Riveted the root rib to spar with countersunk rivets. Found a great tip on the internet (thanks Brad!) for riveting the outboard rib. The instructions say to rivet the 704 tip rib to the 703 counterbalance rib, then rivet the assembly to the spar. Other builders have had problems when riveting the assembly to the rib—just not much clearance to get a squeezer on the rivets. I riveted the 703 rib to the spar first—was able to flex the rib over just enough to use the squeezer. Now I can easily rivet the 704 to the 703. 2 hours to drive 22 rivets--I wouldn't last till lunch on a production line!
