Brief Description: Apply resin/acetone mix to cowlings
Work continues on the cowlings. I very lightly sanded the upper cowling, then wiped down both upper and lower cowlings with acetone. Followed the same routine as yesterday—mixed up some resin and thinned with acetone. Brushed the mixture on the lower cowl, then used a credit card to squeegee to a thin coat. Again, I used a 4” roller to roll out the marks left by the credit card. Then, I did the same process for the top cowl. Both upper and lower cowls look very shiny and slick. Think I’m getting close to shooting some sanding primer on the upper. I also researched how other builders have used dowel rods to stiffen up the wing tips. I’ll probably start that process in a day or so.
