Finished prepping the aileron attach brackets for primer. Spent some time figuring out the flap brace and aileron gap fairings-should be fairly straight forward. However, I’ve heard other builders say that the “hand holding” ends when the empennage is finished—bit of an understatement! Found one area on the right wing rear spar near the aileron attach bracket (center) where the qb guys put a rivet in the wrong hole and left one hole without a rivet. That will have to be changed before the flap brace will fit. Started to trim the right flap brace “hatched area”, but appears there will be an edge distance issue on the last rivet near the end of the brace. Will check with Van’s regarding this issue.
