Brief Description: Inspection plate pitot tube mount
Removable Pitot tube mounting plate under inspection cover... Plate is made of a 'C-shaped' piece of alclad. Will be held in place by #8 screws. Had to re-make upper mouting 'tab'; 1st one wasn't aligned entirely with spar after drilling 1st nutplate holes (holes in spar were already dimpled, so holes in mounting tab were drilled using homemade nutplate drill jig, but jig wasn't oriented EXACTLY the same as the holes in the spar, so original plate was 'tilted' relative to spanwise spare edge by about 1/16th in... Could have used it as-is, but wanted a little 'extra' edge distance for the screws. Note the 'flanges' of the mounting channel are fluted to cause a slight curvature to match airfoil shape in this area (almost flat).
