18-02 Step 1 Fabricate Actuation bracket. This is the first bit of actual fabrication I've encountered in this kit. The instruction to make the Right bracket 'the oppposite' of the left is not as detailed as I'd like, but common sense tells me it has to be a mirror image.
Fabricated pivot brackets.
Fluting the A 1204 outboard nose rib is harder than it looks. I had to take the clecoed assembly apart and deepen the flutes considerably to get the web of the rib to sit flush with the edge of the nose skin. I found the it was necessary to get the fluting plier right up against the rib web - that is, flute right to the base of the flange to get the rib straight enough. Even then, I needed to shim the forward two rivet locations as there was a big gap. But I'm getting ahead of myself!
Spent the rest of the afternoon deburring all flaperon ribs, and one spar.
