Brief Description: Canopy Install: Drilling Hinge Blocks 2
I made small indentations to locate holes, then took these blocks to the drill press and drilled straight holes. First I made the two holes for the AN3 bolts. Then I marked the 1/4 hinge pin hole, removed the block and drilled it also.
I clamped these blocks back into the fuselage and used the holes in the blocks as guides to drill thru the inboard short rib.
Per plan I drilled the 1/4 hole for the hinge pin. To do this I had to buy a 12 inch 1/4 bit so I could get it straight into the hole. My angle drill just didn't fit well enough. This long drill made it easy.
