The push rod has 8 1/8 pulled rivets to hold the caps on the end. I made a paper template and marked 8 evenly spaced rivet holes. Then I taped it to the push rod and drilled the holes. I get fairly good spacing, but the holes vary a little both in spacing and for-aft. I use a little table drill press. I drilled first with #40 then enlarged them to #30 using the big drill prell. I think the big drill press is better and I'd advise using it in the future.
