Brief Description:  Cabin Frame Roll Bar 8: Drill Channel Holes

Next is to drill the holes in the channels for the straps that hold the channel halves together. There are lots of good construction web sites where guys are doing this with tape. And I had thought I'd use tape also. But I took a mental step back and evaluated what I would do if I hadn't read any other sites. I decided to just use my drilling jig. It has 20 holes and is bend-able.

So I marked the centerline on the channels. Then I studied the drawings and determined where the end points are and drilled those holes. On the outside I had to go one less hole then the full side because there are 21 holes per channel on the outside. But that was no biggy.

Then I clecoed my drilling jig in place on each end and clamped every other hole to the channel. I drilled every other unclamped hole and clecoed it. Then I removed the clamps and drilled all those holes.
