While I have the tail out, I might as well do the empennage fairing. So I pulled it out. Turns out you start with the lower gap seals which are a couple of aluminum pieces. I don't a have them. I think they were not in my kit, but it is too late now to expect Vans to provide them for free. I should have done better inventory.
I do have a couple of 3 inch pieces of .032 aluminum left over from the canopy so I'll make the bottom gap covers. My brother Ed traced his on a piece of paper and sent me the paper. This template is a good starting point.
So I had some fun doing aluminum work, making these gap covers.
