I installed the rudder and double checked that I had a fit I liked. I do. The tip is flush both sides with the rudder now. Thank Goodness.
I made a new foam plug and glued it in. I recessed it into the tip about 1/16, so I have room to apply mud to make it smooth.
I put a layer of fiberglass over the plug. To close off the end and the glass attaches a little to the 1/16 lip so I'm hoping that helps with hold this plug together.
